Foucault is the Intel Officer assigned to Flashfire's team. Before he joined the NSTA, he worked for NASA as a Mission Control specialist, so the Intel Officer position was a natural choice. He is extremely level-headed and practical, rarely doing anything unorthodox or impulsive (a habit that tends to annoy Delirium, who is exactly the opposite). Because of his former job, Foucault has learned to keep a calm demeanor at almost all times; he seldom shows any emotion, and has developed a reputation for being completely unshakable. This can be problematic, however, when coupled with his tendency towards understatement -- a situation is usually worse than he makes it sounds, and new Agents have to learn quickly to decode this. Even if it doesn't seem like it, he still cares a great deal about his agents and does his best to keep them out of trouble. When something does go wrong, he feels personally responsible and worries constantly until the problem is resolved, no matter how long it takes. Fiercely loyal to his team, he backs them up in any dispute. This loyality is reciprocated by the Field Agents, who all respect him greatly. Even though he is popular, Foucault is intensely private, and very few of his coworkers know much about him. He seems to prefer it this way, and never supplies any information unless directly asked. No one even knows his real name (there is speculation that his RISAnet ID is his real name, though this would be a violation of NSTA protocol. Foucault isn't saying, one way or the other). This reclusiveness doesn't seem to affect his job performance, but can be off-putting to new Officers, who invariably attempt to befriend him (and fail).
