Heather joined the Agency very soon after she graduated college. Since she had always had a natural flair for languages, her original plan was to work with the UN as a translator, but a hiring freeze had taken affect the year she graduated, and she would have to wait. To pay her bills in the interim, Heather took a position in the NSTA. At first, she was given the positon of Intel Officer until it was decided that her skills were actually more useful in the field -- a decision that frightened her at first, but that she has since learned to appreciate. She picked "Delphi" as her RISAnet ID -- for no other reason than it sounded good. Even though she acts imperious at times, Delphi is a very good Agent. She has a way with negotiations that have gotten her team out of some very sticky situations, a talent that more than makes up for her condescending attitude. Though she still balks at some of the more dirty assignments, she doesn't complain or whine nearly as much as she did when she was new (this might be due to a crush she has developed on Flashfire, but she won't admit it). She dislikes violence almost to the extreme, and avoids it whenever she possibly can. Ironically, she is the best marksman on the team -- a talent she discovered after joining the Agency. After work, she often goes and visits her mother, a Chinese immigrant who managed to escape just before the borders were closed. They are still very close, even though her mother is a little distrustful of her occupation. She is proud and supportive, but the Agency's activities remind her a little too much of her old country's policies. She would rather her daughter go back to the original plan, but Delphi is enjoying her new job and wouldn't give it up now. Quote: "Look, I'm only going to say this once, so listen up." |
